A Letter from the CEO

Few things are more satisfying than chocolate. Chocolate can warm your heart and put a smile on your face. Chocolate is enjoyed by most people and many unabashedly proclaim themselves chocoholics. In sharp contrast to this almost universal embrace of chocolate is the relatively poor quality of most chocolate made and sold in the United States.

When I first started my quest to offer the best chocolate in the United States, I sought the advice of an associate whose family had a multi-million dollar candy business. He asked me to think about whether I wanted to have a profitable product or a labor of love. I chose to make a chocolate that is a labor of love. I chose the name Chocolove because I love chocolate, chocolate is often given to loved ones, and chocolate may be the only real aphrodisiac. The packaging design is inspired by a love letter, and I print love poems inside each label to enhance the romance of the Chocolove experience.

I had no trouble finding hundreds of volunteers to participate in my taste panels. I learned that the majority of people can tell subtle differences in chocolate and prefer a premium chocolate. The taste panels selected Belgian chocolate as their favorite. Although more expensive and a challenge to import, I use only Belgian chocolate. I offer chocolate bars in a range of cocoa contents. Seeing the cocoa content declared on the label allows you to explore and select a chocolate that has the right cocoa flavor strength for you or your recipe. You will probably find that you prefer stronger chocolate after you eat a bar of Chocolove Rich Dark or Strong Dark chocolate. You will notice many subtle flavors in stronger chocolates because the sugar is not masking the flavor but is present only in a supporting role.

I prefer to sell a premium quality chocolate because of its complex and satisfying flavor. Chocolove was inspired by a vision that the understanding and appreciation of fine chocolate would mirror that of fine wine.
