Chocolove Introduces Chocolatour Vintage 2004

Boulder, CO - Chocolatour is a new line of single origin, vintage chocolate bars from Chocolove, a premium chocolate manufacturer. Chocolatour offers a world tour of chocolate.

The first Chocolatour varietals, were announced in January and sold out almost as quickly as they were announced. Place your order today before this vintage sells out.

Vintage 2004: Sao Tome 70% Dark Chocolate
Made from Amelondos, a variety of cocoa bean transplanted from the southern Amazon region, this chocolate makes no pretense. The aroma is clearly cacao with hints of roasted coffee. On the palate, the strong chocolate flavor transitions to coffee and then to a tangy, dry finish. Each vintage of Chocolatour is unique in its flavor profile. The overall flavor and the distinct flavor notes will continue to develop with time. Even with aging, this chocolate will always be intense.

Vintage 2004: Grenada 60% Dark Chocolate
Made from Trinitarios, a cocoa bean variety that started near Grenada, this chocolate has hints of port wine in its aroma. On the palate, it starts with flavors of lightly roasted cocoa, transitions to vanilla and then hints of black walnut on the finish. Each vintage of Chocolatour is unique in its flavor profile. The overall flavor and the distinct flavor notes will continue to develop with time. Historically, the Grenada origin has developed the most flavor over time, so this might be one to age a while before eating.

Vintage 2004: Java 33% Milk Chocolate
Made with Java Whites, a variety of Criollo cocoa bean unique to Java, this chocolate is smooth, rich and full. It starts with hints of coconut and cream in the aroma. On the palate, sweet caramel and butterscotch flavors transition to coffee and cream and then a touch of banana and coconut on the finish. Each vintage of Chocolatour is unique in its flavor profile. While the chocolate flavor will continue to develop with time, this milk chocolate is at its best right now.

Eating a Chocolatour is an experience like tasting a bottle of fine wine. You can choose a specific terroir and vintage and if you taste carefully, you’ll be able to taste something of the country and the weather.

Because Chocolatour is made from single origin cocoa beans and weather affects the quality of the cocoa bean from year to year, Chocolatour will be made exclusively from origins and vintages that have high quality cocoa beans. Consequently, Chocolatour is made in limited productions and some origins may be available only once in a few years.
